Last week I ordered some long overdue new trainers from the internet. They are a type that I have worn before and when I saw that they now did them in WIDE I was thrilled and just had to have them. I was very excited and spent every day eagerly checking the post for them. When they did not arrive as promptly as I’d like (I don’t do waiting!) I called the suppliers. The Glaswegian on the other end of the phone had some interesting advice. He told me that the trainers had been sent in the post second class. When I told him they had not arrived he asked if I had received a card stating I had a parcel to pick up. Now I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but No I had not had a card. Then he suggested I go down to the parcel depot to check if they had something for me as apparently sometimes the posties run out of cards to put through the door. At this point I had to laugh and told him this did not make sense (I felt I was getting fobbed off) how I asked, if I was not left a card would the post office expect me to know to pick it up, perhaps I should use telepathic energy? He had no answer for that!
Oh Asics where are you?
Finally after a week in transit the Asics 2150 Wide arrived yesterday and they are beautiful! So this morning saw me being startled awake by the alarm for an early morning 5 miles. Trainers felt good, could definitely feel the extra support and the bunion was well happy it had space within the trainer rather than hanging over the edge!
Hope you are ooh and aahing aren’t they gorgeous?
Happy Easter and happy running to all of you!
