Given the beautiful English weather this morning I briefly wondered if I should postpone my plan to bike the 4 milesish to work. That sane thought was brief, insanity took hold I headed off first to drop madam at school, then on to work. I set the garmin to bike mode but then forgot to turn it off on arrival, (I feel the cold froze my remaining brain cells) so the 3.75 miles took over 5 hours! Well it wasn’t a fast ride as had been told to take it easy, but am pleased I did it, felt good to be out in the VERY fresh air and to be increasing the heart rate.
Sat in the office this morning, trying to convince myself that the weather was better than it looked and was brightening up, but nope unfortunately the ride home if anything was colder and certainly harder as up hill, so kept in the lowest gear for most of the way. Thanks goodness I had taken my ski gloves with me this morning or you would have needed an ice pick to prise my fingers off the handlebars!
And the Oscar for best supporting cross training activity goes to cycling.
LOL – 5 hours teehee! Seriously well done – but be careful on those hills – cycling uphill can be just as tough on the knees as running!
That time’s worthy of me! Hope you’ve warmed up again.
Yippee for getting out especially in this currently particularly bad weather. It hailed over here today!
Well done for getting cycling, hope the physio works and the knee gets sorted soon.
5 hours? Thats hard core – and beats my 4 hour run!
