7.8 miles

Sunday I always do a long run 10 to 13 miles but that was not to be today, priorities took over and I could only manage 7.8 miles (this will even mileage up after 4.2 mile run on Friday) this was due to 2 factors 1) could not leave madam home alone and hubby went out 2) had to run, bathe and feet up in front of T.V by 4 p.m. to watch the Chelsea V Liverpool match. Like I say priorities.

I managed to run along by the river for the first time this year it was nice but oh so windy. At one point I felt like the bionic woman running stuggling to move in the wind, it was odd because parallel to me was a crow also struggling with the wind, both of us seemed to be going nowhere, at this point I turned around to head back and left the bird to it.

Last night I entered the London Bupa 10k, so from the 21 February I will train for this, so am off to research a training plan, looking for one called ‘How to run 10K in 40 minutes without really trying’ wish me luck.

I have been running since 2004 when I decided to do the Race for Life, as a close friend was terminally ill with cancer. Following that I did a couple of 10km at Leeds castle and Sandringham. Then in 2005 ran my first London marathon, then another in 2007 in blistering temperatures. I have entered the London marathon every year since but have been rejected, am now find maintaining my fitness & motivation hard, so when the email came through about Janathon I thought why not! Am hoping this helps with fitness, motivation and weight loss!! Wish me luck!

    lol – love the picture you paint of running into the headwind. Great that you’ve signed up for a 10k – hope you find that training plan.

    “only” 7.8 miles? I dream of 7.8 miles. Respect sistah!
    Oh now you’ve given me the BUPA 10k to think about – this feels like the first time I read about Janathon. Jana-what, run every day? In January no way. oh and then I’m doing it. hmmm

  3. Very impressed that you have continued to run every day and blog regularly. You’ll enjoy the bupa 10000. I’ve run it every year (3 times) its a really great run and very well organised. As for 40 mins… I’ll leave that to you! I’ll be greatful to match last years time of 50.38. I’l’l keep in touch to swap training notes!

    Well done on your run and your February efforts – 7.8 miles is still a pretty decent distance! Know what you mean about the wind – at times felt like I was doing everything i could just to stay upright! 🙂
